A look at the Australian blogosphere by blogs.com.au

Call out for government blogs

Not specifically looking for politicians who are blogging (we’ve already got 117 in the directory) but are wanting to know of actual state or commonwealth government department blogs. We only have one in the entire index and that was added today.

So if you know of any Australian government blogs posts the URL in the comments and I’ll add it to the search index and directory.

Thanks.
Anthony

You’ve tracked 117 Australian politicians who are blogging? I know of a dozen, and that includes local government and long-shot independent candidants. Would be fabulous to see the list if you have one. Cheers!

Hi Steven.
The 117 figure is inflated because it includes Myspace and Facebook profiles. Is only really 30 blogs of current politicians and current candidates for the 2007 election. The directory will go online end of next week or the week after. Not even a 1/3 of the way through tagging the blogs.

Hi Anthony,

I’ve only been able to found two:
- State Library of Victoria’s Read Alert Youth Literature Blog at http://www.slv.vic.gov.au/services/education/youthlit/readalert/
- Victorian Public Service Continuous Improvement Network at http://www.vpscin.org/

If you find more, I’ll add them to my directory at http://blogdotgov.com/government-blog-directory/ :)

And to put in one more plug - I’ll be asking around for more at Oz-IA in a couple of weeks time - http://oz-ia.org

Cheers, Andrew Boyd

Hi Andrew,

I saw the Read Alert blog yesterday which is what prompted this request. Thanks for the heads up about the VPSCIN blog.
