A look at the Australian blogosphere by blogs.com.au

Blogging is a really scary thing for public relations professionals

Thanks to Meg’s helpful list of When Not to Blog, I know not to post my just written vitriol filled blog post about a I’ll sit on the fence but isn’t blogging kinda useless column by Rebecca Laskary on page 69 of the September 13-19 issue of BRW.

Maybe on Monday, when I’m not tired, angry and wanting to get drunk, I will post a constructive reply.

Please don’t assume that Rebecca speaks for our profession as a whole!

Her views, published in BRW, are just one person’s opinion. My take on the issue is another — and a very different view to Rebecca’s. Most people in PR probably sit somewhere in the middle — interested in blogs, but still unsure of what to make of them.

Have a drink for me too :) Look forward to reading the (moderated?) version.

Hi Steven. This was just my little tantrum post out of frustration that something with such a weak argument that lacked any evidence in blogging knowledge or blogging experience can get published in Australia’s only weekly business magazine. I’ve deleted the nasty post and will do a couple of new posts. One talking up good online PR tactics via blogs and another to correct some of the erroneousness statements in the BRW column.

Hi Meg. A heavily moderated version ;)
